Nigel Kershaw OBE is a Social Enterprise UK ‘Champion of Champions’ and in 2010 was awarded an OBE for services to Social Enterprise. He joined The Big Issue in 1994 and today is Chair of The Big Issue Group, comprised of The Big Issue Media which publishes The Big Issue magazine, along with Big Issue Invest, which manages and advises on over £275m in impact funds and has invested in over 400 social enterprises in the UK.
More recently, he co-founded and became Chair of The Big Exchange, the world's first retail impact platform, rating actively-managed listed funds for their positive impact with 12 asset managers and 36 funds, and a combined assets under management of £15bn.
Prior to joining The Big Issue, he was a lithographic printer, project manager and Trade Union official and founded three printing and publishing employee owned enterprises.
