Mark is currently Chairman Centrica Pension Funds, Chairman Scottish Land and Estates, non-executive director of Unit Trust of India International and a Trustee of The Royal Hospital Chelsea and leads a charity devoted to stopping young offenders reoffending.
He was chairman of BMOGAM Private Equity Trust plc from 2009 until May 2022.
He spent 28 years with JP MorganChase in Global Custody and the investment bank, the last 12 as senior adviser until he retired in 2018.
He is a member of the Advisory Board of T Rowe Price Global Investor Services.
Prior to that he was at Hill Samuel, Fidelity and Hambros Bank
He served seven years in the Scots Guards and spent a year nursing in India.
He was a parliamentary candidate against Gordon Brown in 1992 and stood for the European Constituency of The Highlands and Islands in 1993.
He runs a large historic house in Scotland with a 4500-acre estate and is an Officer of The Queens Bodyguard in Scotland
