Rory is also a Visiting Professor in Practice in the
Department of Geography and Environment at the London School of Economics and an internationally recognised expert in responsible investment and climate change.
His recent projects include acting as project director for the delivery of data for the first and
second CA100+ Net Zero Company Benchmarks; acting as Chief Technical Adviser to the
Transition Pathway Initiative; acting s lead researcher for the PRI/UNEPFI Fiduciary Duty in
the 21 st Century project; developing the World Bank’s Best Practice Disclosure Framework
for Pension Funds; advising many asset owners and asset managers on the development
and implementation of responsible investment and net zero strategies.
Rory was previously Head of ESG Research and Standards at FTSE Russell, Head of
Responsible Investment at Insight Investment and, for many years, an advisor on ESG-
related data and analytics to organisations such as the UNFCCC, the OECD and
Environment Australia.
He is the author/editor of eleven books and of many papers and reports on responsible
investment and climate change, including Responsible Investment in Fixed Income Markets
(editor with Joshua Kendall, 2023) and Valuing Corporate Responsibility: How Investors
Really Use Corporate Responsibility Information (Greenleaf, 2011).
