Beyond COP26 is what really matters

As COP26 reaches its final day, we can look back on all the commitments, entreaties and promises and find ourselves wondering….what now? If Greta Thunberg’s assessment that it was all just business as usual and ‘blah, blah, blah’ are to be contradicted, the talk must turn to action. Not so much protesting in the streets - though if that focuses collective thinking then it should continue - but in the boardrooms and financial markets across the world. And not for the ‘fluffy’ stuff of saving lives but because there are both real financial losses to be avoided and gains to be made.

But don’t take my word for it, listen to what Steve Waygood CRIO of Aviva said at last month’s Responsible Asset Owners conference said to delegates from across 6 continents who joined in the discussion.
