CIO 2023 outlook: In search of silver linings

We have been fortunate to have CIO of LGIM Sonja Laud take part in several RAO conferences because her cool appraisal of all scenarios and sharp insights always contribute to an informed discussion so it’s pleasing to read her thoughts about the year just gone and the path ahead.

This past year has been one of the worst periods on record for investors. We assess what could signal a turnaround in 2023. For many investors, 2022 has been a year to forget. Rampant inflation, geopolitical conflict and dramatic monetary tightening have largely resulted in poor returns across asset classes. But against a challenging backdrop for 2023, we explain why we think there may be some grounds for optimism.
