ESG Data: Overcoming the challenges

As ESG investing continues to grow, so do the challenges that are associated with it. For most investors, the lack of standardisation in ESG data is the most significant challenge they have to overcome, with the issue being that ESG investment strategies require reliable and accurate data to both construct ESG portfolios and verify that asset managers have succeeded in meeting an investor’s ESG objectives.

Businesses across all industries are now having to contemplate how to integrate ESG into their company culture and processes, whilst continuing to be faced with the issues surrounding ESG data. Having a standardised approach will provide investors with greater clarity around ESG data and will enable them to make informed decisions based on the data available to them, knowing that the data is valid and accurate.

This Special Report investigates some of the ESG data challenges that investors come up against and outlines possible solutions to the ESG data challenges that investors face.
