Transparency and openness matter across the economy and society
Excellent former speaker at several RAO events and CEO of the BVCA, Michael Moore proudly posts this report around the Equity Industry’s commitment to transparency & accountability. He writes:
“Today, as the annual private equity reports are published (see below), the industry shows that is is not only open for business, but also open to scrutiny.
Transparency and openness matter across the economy and society - so there are increasing expectations on private equity to be open and lean into scrutiny (as my recent post about my appearance in front of the select committee made clear).
Happily, our industry already has a strong commitment to transparency through the ‘Walker Guidelines’, overseen by the independent Private Equity Reporting Group.
The reports, and PERG’s assessment of them, can be accessed below. There’s a wealth of information disclosed, including how the industry delivers its outstanding performance.
This year we will learn more from PERG about developments in the Guidelines and we are committed to working constructively to develop our transparency further.”
The Policy Team at BVCA say “We are thrilled to announce the launch of the 16th edition of the UK Private Equity Annual Public Reports.
Access to 3 separate annual public reports on the #privatecapital industry is now available, these include:
◾ The Annual report of the Private Equity Reporting Group
◾ The EY annual report on the performance of portfolio companies
◾ The PwC Good Practice Guide on improving transparency and disclosure
Collectively, these reports exemplify the industry’s commitment to transparency as it finds that the vast majority of portfolio companies met both the annual report and mid-year transparency requirements. Moreover, 60% of portfolio companies produced enhanced additional disclosure to at least a good standard. To read these reports, click here: https://lnkd.in/e9UEkYea

We are delighted to report that all BVCA members included in the report population are compliant with the guidelines, reinforcing the industry's dedication to best practices.
