Janie is the Head of Investment, P&C at Zurich Global Investment Management in New York responsible for the implementation of the investment strategy for the US and Canada Balance Sheets. Janie joined Zurich North America in October, 2018, as senior analyst supporting the business and working closely with the Regional Investment managers.
Janie joined Zurich in 2012 as Equity Portfolio Manager in Barcelona, Spain. In her role, she demonstrated strong portfolio management skills, contributed successfully to the implementation of the Front Office Solution for Spain and Portugal and drove the implementation of the responsible investment strategy in Spain.
In 2016 she took over the responsibility of Fixed Income Portfolio Manager for Zurich Vida in Spain and Portugal. In this position, Janie was instrumental in the construction of a credit portfolio in Portugal, the optimization of the profit sharing portfolios in Spain and coordination of the Spanish contribution into the global securities lending project.
Prior to joining Zurich, Janie worked 5 years as fixed income portfolio manager in the asset
management division of a Spanish mid-size bank, Banco Mare Nostrum. Previously, she also
spent 3 year working as Professor of accounting and finance at the University of Havana.
Janie holds a BA in Accounting and Finance and MSc in Tourism and Commerce from the
University of Havana and MSc in Financial Markets from IEF in Barcelona.
