Michelle has 27 years’ experience in the investment, insurance, and pension industries. She has held senior leadership roles in some of the largest financial institutions in the world including Manulife Financial, British Columbia Investment Management, SunLife Global Investments, and Railpen Investments. She is best known for her experience in governance, strategy, and risk management. Throughout her career she has developed a track record of transforming businesses and cultures.
Michelle is the Vice Chair of the global pension industry association, International Centre for Pension Management (ICPM). As MD, Railpen Investments, she was responsible for the overall management of the £30B UK Railway Pension Scheme’s investments. Prior to joining Railpen she led the Risk, Strategy, and Investor Relations functions at BCI, a $150B asset owner in western Canada.
She is well recognized as an inspirational leader and excellent communicator and very passionate about the growing and important role asset owners play in financial systems. Her extensive global network provides her an exceptionally broad perspective on best practices and trends.
She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and holds both a Chartered Financial Analyst designation and the preeminent Directorship accreditation, ICD.D.
