John is an inspirational leader who has devoted nearly 25 years to the asset management industry in order to recover the virtuous narrative that the investment profession bring to society. He is a staunch public advocate for market integrity, long-termism, investor outcomes, diversity, human dignity and educational standards, as necessary ingredients to building a sustainable and healthy profession.
John is a passionate coach and mentor and consistently builds high performing, diverse teams through a culture of accountability, trust, curiosity, and servant leadership. He has led regional, global, and virtual teams of large operational scale, often in transformational change circumstances.
John currently serves as Senior Managing Director for CAIA, overseeing the industry leading CAIA charter, thought leadership, and CAIA's Asia Pacific growth aspirations. John previously served as Managing Director for the Americas for CFA Institute, a region comprised of 40+ countries from Canada, the U.S., Central America, South America and the Caribbean with a budget of more than $140m. Earlier in his career, John honed his investment prowess when he co-managed $2.3 billion in non-US equities and led several global teams of analysts whose teamwork represented a dynamic and bold set of ideas for the portfolio.
John is a prolific writer and commentator, frequently appearing in industry and business publications such as the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Pension and Investments, Institutional Investor, Barrons, Financial Advisor, The Independent, Wealthmanagement.com and CNBC.
John’s proudest and most important roles, however, are that of husband, father of six, and church leader. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, reading, Boston sports, and a great glass of red wine.
