Giles creates partnerships between Government, industry and financial institutions. He has ten years’ experience in investment banking in the infrastructure, housing and energy sectors and ten years’ experience within Government. He holds the roles of Head – Guarantees within Homes England and Investment Structure Advisor within MHCLG.
Previously at HM Treasury he led deals for the infrastructure guarantee programme and became the commercial advisor to HMT housing and energy spending teams and HM Treasury technical lead for Hinkley Point C. Subsequently he shaped Government policy and led initiatives to grow social impact investment. Earlier in his career he worked for the MOD and the FCO to gain HMT project spending approvals and worked for the German Government running the financial model that underpinned the €150bn WestLB bank liquidation.
Giles is a CFA Charterholder, has the certificate in ESG investing and is a member of the UK ethics and professionalism steering committee. He holds Masters degrees in engineering and finance.
