Stephanie is a senior growth strategy and corporate development professional with a significant background in STEM fields before she transitioned to working in finance and software technology. At Competent Boards, she oversees the development and execution of corporate growth strategy, strategic partnerships, and outside sales to support the company in fulfilling its mission of increasing the number of ESG and Climate & Biodiversity competent boards and executives worldwide.
Prior to Competent Boards, Stephanie managed multiple investment portfolios/verticals of software technology businesses for a global mergers and acquisitions firm. Stephanie had also worked in foreign exchange trading and corporate banking. Before that, Stephanie worked as an environmental scientist and consultant in the Canadian oil and gas and energy sector. This work took Stephanie to the northernmost territories in Canada, where Stephanie managed projects in consultation with Indigenous and First Nations communities.
Stephanie’s formative professional experience was working aboard a Canadian Coast Guard research ship as a marine technician and scientific diver for Environment & Climate Change Canada. Stephanie took part in scientific expeditions to collect oceanographic and limnological data that helped shape Canada’s stance on climate change policy and resource security. This experience cemented Stephanie’s dedication to and passion for climate change research and policy change.
